I began playing the flute in the 6th grade at Marlton Middle School, 37 years ago! Throughout the past three decades, I have studied and performed with a passion, and developed a strong desire to share my love of the flute with others. I have been fortunate to teach several hundred aspiring flutists, both privately and in public school settings, and that number continues to grow. Now in its 10th year, the Evesham Flute Studio has a roster of 25 students that study year-round, as well as the many that come just for ensembles, workshops and summer camps. I hope that you will be inspired to join me on this lifelong journey - come play and learn with me!
Student Successes and Achievements:
Performed in master classes for Julius Baker, Alexa Still, Gary Schocker and Mary Karen Clardy.
About the studio.....
Mission: The mission of my flute studio is for every student to develop a lifelong love of playing the flute and to gain the skills needed to become independent musicians, no matter what their career paths may be. Lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, and are designed to follow the National Flute Association's Curriculum Guide as well as those standards set forth by the ABRSM (England) and the Royal Conservatory (Canada).
Principal Instrument: Flute
Principal Style: Classical/Traditional
Others Taught: Suzuki, Jazz, Various
Studio Size: Medium (up to 35 students)
Lessons are generally scheduled in the afternoon and early evening hours. Days will vary by semester. Recital dates are planned at least once a year, and all students are expected to participate.
As students of the Evesham Flute Studio, you also become members of The Flute Society of Greater Philadelphia via it's studio group membership. Students will benefit from all of the Society's offerings to area flutists, including master classes, workshops and concert performances.
Additionally, middle school and high school students are welcome to participate in various competitions and festivals sponsored by the NJMEA and NJMTA, of which I am a member. I will also list other local area flute activities that I feel are worthwhile for my students to attend as they are announced.
