Christine Dalsey Hansen is a flutist and music educator in the NJ/PA/DE area who earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Temple University, Master of Music degree from the University of Delaware and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Rutgers University. She has studied flute with Eileen Grycky, Murray Panitz, Kazuo Tokito, Adeline Tomasone and Bart Feller and performed in master classes of Julius Baker, Bradley Garner, Keith Underwood and Jean-Pierre Rampal.
Chris has worked with many groups and artists including the Delaware Symphony, Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Mann Music Center Festival Orchestra, Philadelphia Boys Choir, American Strauss Symphony, Vox Ama Deus Ensemble, Ronan Tynan, Katherine Jenkins, Art Garfunkel, Terence Blanchard and Spike Lee, and Jackie Evancho. Currently, she performs with the St. John’s (Bluebell) Chamber Orchestra, the Philadelphia Savoy Opera Company, and the Philadelphia Flute Quartet. Chris is a frequent soloist at area churches and serves as a flutist for the Augsburg Fortress sacred music publishing company’s Philadelphia area clinics for church musicians. Her playing can be heard on recordings with The Wind Symphony of Southern NJ, Helix!-Rutgers University contemporary music ensemble, Bocage Music, NFL Films and others.
Chris has taught privately and as a band teacher at many public and private schools including Settlement Music School, Washington and Voorhees Township Schools, and Rowan University. Presently, she works for the Educational Testing Service as a PRAXIS Music test scorer, is an adjunct professor at Eastern University/Campolo College of Graduate and Professional Studies, and is thrilled to be joining the Evesham Flute Studio!
